About Beussink & Hickam

Joseph B. Beussink is a native of Leopold, MO and received his accounting degree from Southeast Missouri State University. He worked for various public accounting firms in Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois before starting his practice in Anna in 1977.

Scott A. Hickam is a Murphysboro native and received his accounting degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. He worked in various accounting positions before joining the staff in 1989. In 1994, Scott A. Hickam become partner, together with Joseph B. Beussink, they formed a professional corporation, Beussink & Hickam, P.C.

Our Qualifications

  • Both principals have decades of experience in tax preparation, accounting, and auditing.
  • Both principals are licensed Illinois Certified Public Accountants (CPA) and are members of the Illinois Certified Public Accountants Society.
  • Each principal completes a minimum of 120 hours of continuing professional education every 3 years in the area of tax, accounting and auditing.
  • Each employee working with audits completes a minimum of 80 hours of continuing professional education every 2 years in the area of accounting and auditing.
  • Both principals received a Certificate of Educational Achievement in Governmental Accounting and Auditing by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants in 1994.
  • Beussink & Hickam P.C has a peer review conducted by an independent third party every 3 years.
